46 year old female, debt free but trying to save as much as possible.
I am currently working as a gate-guard in the oilfield in South Texas on the Eagle Ford Shale and it is predicted that there is 10-18 years worth of work in this area.
I live and work in a 20 ft travel trailer-camper with my two dogs CoCo (chiuaua) and Kruegar (poodle/blue healer mix).
Life can be extremely exciting or extremely boring both, depending on what is going on at any given time.
Goals for 2012 are:
[ ] Save $10,000.00 by May for an emergency fund
[ ] Save $5000.00 by July for a reliable used truck.
[ ] Save $10,000.00 in regular savings.
Other goals/challenges for the year will be to buy only used where I can and to get free or very low cost items where possible.
We always have black eyed peas for New Years lunch, supposedly it brings good luck in the new year. Are there any traditions or superstitions where you live?
Thanks Analise....I'll try that recipe. I like black eyed peas but honestly don't eat them much. I'll add that to my recipes...anything I can make in the crock pot is a good recipe and this sounds easy.
